Yay, it’s that time again where I dive (head first) into the monthly GlossyBox and take you all with me. From this month’s packaging and the current weather situation, I think we can all gather it’s all about clinging onto that SUN. GlossyBox may’ve ideally wanted this box to arrive with the weather that came in July. The weather that had us all slightly burnt from a half hour walk in town. But this is Britain. I did have some luck in taking the photo’s for this post, the sun definitely had his hat on.
As always, a perfectly wrapped up parcel with the neatest bow awaited me after lifting the lid. I wanna know who or what ties the bows on these things because once they’re untied there is NO going back as in…there is NO recreating it. SO PRETTY.
Bronzers aren’t just a summer bestie for me. I’m after the bronzed, healthy glow all year round. So this was exciting first item to pick out (if you watch my unboxings on YouTube I’m pretty sure you could imagine one of my squeals). Admittedly, I was a little shocked by the insides. It’s been a long time since I owned anything leopard print let alone makeup. But after swatching and having a bit of a play around with it, I’m in love.
THE GLOW. It was so unexpected from this product and I’m gonna be honest… I don’t normally obsess over anything with an animal print. It’s super warm toned with a flush of gold which is exactly what I look for in a bronzer. Can’t. Go. Wrong.
If this doesn’t scream FESTIVAL ESSENTIAL to you I don’t know what will. It’s so cute and tiny. You could either treat this as a travel mini or maybe as a taste (no spraying in mouths people) to see if you’d like to buy it full size. Admittedly, I’ve had a dodgy few days where it’s been a mixture of not enough time to wash my hair and being just being lazy. So let’s just say I’ve had plenty of time to test this product out.
The smell is hands down the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of sniffing from a dry shampoo. It’s super refreshing and the smell alone makes me feel that little bit less greasy…is that TMI? After 2 days of using it (yes don’t judge), the can has still got some of it’s magic inside – ideal for festivals/trips away!
The way I’ve worked out the sample size price, is finding a full sized product at 300ml and dividing the price by 3 as it’s 100ml. It’s not the smallest thing I’ve ever received. I think sometimes when brands say ‘sample’ size for hair products, they assume we’re a new born with 3 strands of hair. I never receive enough in the bottle to proper coat and wash my hair. So 9 times out of 10, I’ll end up not liking it or even having an opinion because I can’t use them how they’re intended to be used.
HOWEVER. no more negative nelly. 100ml is a decent sample size for a hair mask. I’d probably end up using it all in one go because I have SO much hair. The hairdressers need twice sometimes three times the amount of dye when balayaging my hair. Deffo go to places that don’t charge by the dye if this sounds familiar. What’s fab is this doesn’t need to be a *head over the bath, leave the mask on for half hour whilst feeling it constantly dripping down your neck* situation. It’s a 3-5 minute leave in whilst you’re doing other bits in the shower then rinse out, instead of a conditioner. YAY!
Oh my word. Praise the GlossyBox lord. I FINALLY have a Rodial product in my life. And it’s all about a moisturizing matte, suede lip. I’m here for it. Totally here. The shade I got in my box is called the Big Apple which is a burgundy, plum kinda shade.
You know what that means, AUTUMN IS COMING. Plum. Burgandy. Rust. Anymore words that scream Autumn to you?! Comment them so I can prepare my lingo for the next few months!
Meet my new obsession. After the first time using this, roughly 3-4 sprays later, I was hooked. This can be used as a primer that helps to control the oils in your pores throughout the day. Just a warning to those that are intrigued by this, it doesn’t smell fab. I was surprised at first, but then realized it contains Menthol which has a cooling affect and it kind of clears out your sinus’ (again….TMI?).
I can get over a smell that’s not sickly sweet like most face mists for the refreshing feeling this one gives me!
This month it’s a Pureleis Bracelet that I THINK can double up as a cute hair tie. I’ve received one from their summer collection which has gold writing saying ‘Aloha’ on it. I can’t help but see this on the beach with a coconut/pineapple cocktail *sobs because I’m staying in england*. They have some amazing cactus and rose gold ones!
I have a 30% off discount code valid until the 15th of October this year. Use ‘glossy30’ at the checkout on the Purelei site.
That’s everything for the August GlossyBox. YET AGAIN, it’s worth over £50 totally at £50.99. I think I’ve worked everything out right. That’s not including the worth of the extra gift too. But I’m so happy with this box. Mainly due to the bronzer and Rodial Lipstick, they had be sold at £38.50 for just those two products!
