After trying this mask a few times – just to double check that the results weren’t a fluke – I had to share this with you. This is the GlamGlow GravityMud mask, the one that was flying around the internet a year back with top YouTubers & Celebrities flaunting their metallic face. Yep, thats the one!
I was kindly sent this by LookFantastic as part of a beauty bundle, and I have to say it stood out from the start. For people that watch Take Me Out..it was my love at first light. Ok sorry, I had to throw that in there.
This mask gives a firming treatment that aims to firm, lift and tighten the skin. Provided with the mask is a brush for application. I’ve never applied a facemask with a brush before because a) I didn’t want to ruin my makeup brushes b) didn’t have spare cash to go and by a new one & c) my fingers worked fine. But after using the GlamGlow brush provided – IT’S SO MUCH EASIER AND LESS MESSY. It’s also 10 times as satisfying to apply.
The mask formula changes colour from white to a metallic, silver chrome when dry. What makes it even better is the fact it peels. I’m not a huge fan of the masks that you have to wash off of your face purely because it leaves my bathroom in such a state after I’ve splash it everywhere. And peeling gives you PEEL PORN & ITS AMAZING.
The first time I used the mask it peeled off all in one go. Sign of a good mask.
It needs 20-30 minutes to dry which is one of the longer facemasks I’ve tried. But if it gives me an excuse to chill & do nothing, I’m game. Here are the results taken in the same room, same light. Please ignore the giant bags under my eyes!
BEFORE & AFTER (right eye):
BEFORE & AFTER (left eye):
I could not believe the difference once I saw the before & after shots side by side. As you can see, my skin looks smoother and firmer. As the mask dried I could feel my skin tightening but not to an uncomfortable amount! After peeling it off, I had to double take. My skin, particularly around the T-Zone and underneath my eyes, looked like brand new.
Also, you might’ve noticed my skin to be a lot less shiny in the after pictures. I’m convinced it also removes the oil and horrible grease my skin lights to build up after a long day!
I now use this twice a week as the results are way too amazing to ignore and let the product gather dust in my bathroom. It’s super refreshing and I don’t have a bad thing to say about it from my experience! One thing I will say is, if you have SUPER sensitive skin, maybe steer clear. I’ve seen a few bloggers try the same mask and their skin flares up and goes red in the areas they applied. Just be careful and if it feels like it’s uncomfortable or burning and just not right, take it off! Just thought I’d mention this incase any of you thought to buy the mask and suffer a little.
